INSTRUMENTS
Dance and music have a high priority, as they shape the children’s personality. The young adults often perform on stage; in fact, the Sosolya performances have become so popular in Uganda that they sometimes have to turn down offers because they are limited to one set of instruments and costumes. Therefor two shows cannot take place at the same time. New instruments and costumes are also needed for new dances and to replace worn-down ones. Only a few people know how to build the traditional instruments. Costumes and instruments are hand-made from all-natural materials and they are, therefore, expensive. To cover the expenses, 910 Euro per year are needed.
